malmsbury
This series is a response to a site of Malmsbury, a small town located in Victoria, Australia. The jewellery pieces attempt to echo both the winter atmosphere I’ve encountered at the time, as well as to acknowledge the presence of the drought and how delicate it has rendered some of the oldest and largest trees on site.
I’ve developed this series of neckpieces using twigs and small branches as a main material, naturally discarded from trees that I’ve found on the ground in the Malmsbury Botanic Gardens. The pieces suggest an immediacy and a link between the wearer and the site itself.
